Why randomness matters
Attackers often try leaked passwords, names, dates, keyboard patterns, and common substitutions. A truly random password avoids those habits.
ThePassKey uses the browser crypto API for password generation. It does not use Math.random().
Use one password per account
Never reuse a password across important accounts. If one website is breached, reused passwords can put your email, banking, work, and social accounts at risk.
The tool runs in your browser. Passwords are not transmitted, stored, logged, placed in analytics, or added to any URL.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are generated passwords saved?
No. Generated passwords stay on your device and are never stored by ThePassKey.
Does the password checker send my password anywhere?
No. The checker estimates strength in your browser only. Typed passwords are not sent to a server.
Should I still use a password manager?
Yes. A trusted password manager helps you store long unique passwords safely for every account.
